Bishop in the bukid "rice farms" |
This is a picture of our bishop and he was working in the bukid "rice farms" when we passed him on the way to his house, he kind of reminds us of a pirate!
Things have been good here. We have some baptisms coming up so of course us missionaries are really excited about that.
I love the Philippines more and more each day that I am here. I have become really good at eating with my hands. Now when we eat our meals we run out of plates before forks and spoons.
I really like the story of Peter when he asked Christ if he could come out to him. People some times get on him because he realized what he was doing and began to sink in the water because a lack of faith, but if we really think about it, he was the only one to ask to come out to Christ. So he must of had a lot of faith to ask and then to act and take that first step out of the boat onto the water.
We always have so much fun when we see other missionaries at district meeting or zone gatherings. Especially the Filipino Elders are funny. Time has gone by so fast here.
Renante and Denis's interview is this coming Saturday and then their baptism is the following Thursday. Then we have Marlene and Lyn who are sisters, their baptism is February 19th. We have started teaching Bishops nephew and we thought that he was a member because he has been coming to church every week even before I was here. We are planning his baptism the same day.
I love you all so much and grateful for the support. it must sound like I repeat myself so many times but I am soooo grateful for the many examples that I have had in my life. This time in my life I know will bless my life and my family right now and my future family also. The Lord is helping me each day and i can see that and I love to re-read my journal entries and see how I have grown.
