January 23, 2011

Hey everyone!!!!

It has been almost a whole transfer without getting over whelmed.  I learned that attitude is everything.  I look forward to each day.  If I wake up and feel that it is going to be a hard day, I look at my planner and look for something to look forward to.

Bishop gave us a referral to teach his nephew and he is progressing well, he has come to church for a while and has the support of his family.  We have started working with a return Sister missionary in our ward and she has shown us some inactive member houses that we can go and teach or visit.

On Thursday we were eating dinner and the RAIN started.  We had one more lesson to teach but we were unable to get there because of the dogs don't like us very much there and the water was up to our calves.  We were wet from head to toe, even though we had our umbrellas they didn't do much.  Our apartment was so humid after the rain stopped.  The Holy Ghost works in his on little ways and sometimes I don't understand them.  We came out of a member house an normally we turn right but for some reason without knowing it we turned left.  If we wouldn't have turned left we wouldn't have met Siste Lucene.  She is an inactive member and she was so happy to see us.  We have set returning appointment to visit their family and we are excited about that.

On the way home from Bishops I always have to hold my shirt closed all the way up to my chin and put a teaching pamphlet in front of my face because of the bugs.  They some way find there way down our clothes.  Bishop wasn't home so his son took us home and we could tell that he hadn't driven the trik as often as his dad because there were a few times that I thought we were going to end up in the rice fields.  That would have been one funny story if it had happened, but it didn't.

Tagalog is coming along.  I have been blessed with patience and I thank Heavenly Father everyday for that.  I am so grateful to be here and would not want to go anywhere else.  He will help me with all of my weaknesses and make my strength stronger.

I love you all so much and of course miss you but grateful to be here.
