Umbrella's also have more than one use.  They are great for keeping the rain off you, but also keeps the dogs away from you.  And if you have the automatic ones where you push a button and it unfolds, it is so funny to watch their reaction.  This Friday we are having our Zone Conference and Elder Teh our area authority is coming down with his wife it should be exciting.  To get an idea for how many times a week we teach last week we taught 10 lessons with a member present, 11 other lessons, 5 lessons to recent converts or returning members and gave out 9 Books of Mormon, 12 new investigators - 4 are progressing.  Sorry for a short e-mail, i love you all and don't worry about me I am great.  I am having fun and enjoying every minute, yes even the hard times, because without those you wouldn't have the good!  Mahal Kita Sister Anderson

Hello everyone!!!  I love to get letters from everyone and I love to re-read them.  I have my journal that I write in but the letters and emails that I receive are like your journals for me.  We had a One day Mission and a Missionary Fireside and it went really well.  We also had 11-13 lessons last week with a member present and only 5 other lessons without one.  We have 10 to 13 new investigators.  THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME IN THE WEEK!!!!  We are going to cook chicken curry, I know that is Courtney's favorite and puso ng saging, which is a heart of a banana.  Our recent converts were so excited to get there pictures of their baptisms.  I printed them out for each one so that they would be able to remember that special day.  Sister Cabuquing doesn't like the dogs here either and we always seem to find the crazy ones.

Always remember who you are and what you believe in.  Which means you have to have faith, but part of faith is action.  If you don't act, it don't grow and bloom - and who wants a dead flower?  Mahal Kita times 500, Sister Kelli Anderson.

Four of our investigators were baptized and confirmed.  It was really exciting and it brought back memories of my baptism.  Since some of our investigators are no longer investigators we have to go treasure hunting again.  Me and Sister Cabuquing have a lot of fun together and we laugh all the time.   We had to CLEAN our apartment because we have apartment checks this week again.  It took three hours and I was sneezing like crazy.  Our lessons with the Lucena family are focused around the Temple because we want all of them to come back to church and then baptize Arman Jiggar and then they call all go to the Temple.  I can't imagine the feeling of going to the Temple and being sealed to your family.  It must be such a spiritual experience for each family.  Things are good here and I love you all, talk to you next week.  Mahal Kita Sister Kelli Anderson :) XOXOXOXO

 Kumusta po kayo???

I am doing good.  As you can see I have a NEW COMPANION!!!! Her name is Sister Cabuquing she come from a big family.  Her favorite color is yellow.  Every six weeks is transfer week.  It was so early in the morning, the night before we wanted to be in early about 8:30 and relax because we got up at three in the morning for transfers.  It was crazy that day.  The Jeepnie was late in picking up Sister Young so we were awake for a while before it even came.  Sister Boekweb, who was Sister Nielsen's companion also left so once again me and Sister Nielsen were companions for the day.

All I can say is that this week has been CRAZY!!! but in a good way.  We have a lot of new investigators.  Had lunch today with Sister Nielsen and her new companion Sister Valeria who is also a Filipino, they are so nice and patient with us.

I am so grateful for everything that I have been give.  I am excited to teach all the time.  I don't speak correctly but one thing that I am really grateful is that I am excited to teach and the people are really nice and understanding.  But they also like to help and if you ask a question they like to help you learn and become better.  I love you all so much and know that it is only through this gospel that we are happy and can have everything.  There are so many blessings that we receive everyday I don't really think we realize what we have.  Not necessarily the material things but family, friends, health, happiness and joy.  Those are things that can't be bought.  And I am grateful to have them.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY by the way, Mahal Kita, Sister Kelli Anderson xoxo:)

Kumusta!!!!
Kumusta po kayo?
ayoslong!!!!

This week has been soooo soooo crazy.  Everything that could go wrong probably went wrong...

I never knew how hard Satan can work and sometimes he even gets what he wants.  It is hard for me because I know what I want these people to feel and to know because it makes me so happy.  Satan was strong right before my mission, when i was getting ready to go, but he is even more because we are here doing the Lords work.  I have so many thoughts running through my mind right now, I don't know where to begin.

So, i will start with some good news.  We still have two investigators with IBD's.  So we are praying as hard as we can that nothing will go wrong with theirs.  But I really find comfort in the scriptures and in my prayers.

We have been having a hard time giving Book of Mormon's away lately and we don't know why, but we have started setting a goal to give at least two out a day.

It rained last night as we walked to our appointment.  It was about up to our ankles and looks like it will rain again today.  I don't mind the rain, as you all know.

I have started reading the Book of Mormon again, this time I have a project as I am reading.  i am marking each time it says repent or be baptized.  I am just really curious at how many times it says it.  The Prophets and Apostles have said to read with a purpose or to be looking for something as you read, so that is what i am doing.

I am glad that today starts a new week and me and Sister Young are really trying to stay strong and finish this transfer out strong.  We have some investigators with some challenges.

I am so grateful for prayer.  I can't say it enough.  And I have a new understanding for the Atonement.  Everyone that I see, everyone that we teach, Christ died for and paid for their sins.  When you think of people as individuals in the plan and not just as groups or categories, it makes such a difference in your life.  I am loving it here everyday and today we to a Chinese place to eat and it was really good.

I AM having fun.  The kids are so much fun and they make me laugh all the time.  The members have started having language study at the beginning of MCM and we laugh all the time.  It makes my brain explode because all of these Filipino people want to help me learn and they are trying to all speak at the same time.  They aren't quiet and when they get excited they really get excited.  I have found some people that can actually OUT TALK Courtney!!!!!  I didn't think that was possible.

Well only five minutes left, soo....I love you all and miss you.  I am grateful for the love and support that you have for me.  Thanks for everything and hope all is well with family and friends.

Bishop in the bukid "rice farms"
 Hello family,

This is a picture of our bishop and he was working in the bukid "rice farms" when we passed him on the way to his house, he kind of reminds us of a pirate!

Things have been good here.  We have some baptisms coming up so of course us missionaries are really excited about that.

I love the Philippines more and more each day that I am here.  I have become really good at eating with my hands.  Now when we eat our meals we run out of plates before forks and spoons.

I really like the story of Peter when he asked Christ if he could come out to him.  People some times get on him because he realized what he was doing and began to sink in the water because a lack of faith, but if we really think about it, he was the only one to ask to come out to Christ.  So he must of had a lot of faith to ask and then to act and take that first step out of the boat onto the water.

We always have so much fun when we see other missionaries at district meeting or zone gatherings.  Especially the Filipino Elders are funny.  Time has gone by so fast here.

Renante and Denis's interview is this coming Saturday and then their baptism is the following Thursday.  Then we have Marlene and Lyn who are sisters, their baptism is February 19th.  We have started teaching Bishops nephew and we thought that he was a member because he has been coming to church every week even before I was here.  We are planning his baptism the same day.

I love you all so much and grateful for the support.  it must sound like I repeat myself so many times but I am soooo grateful for the many examples that I have had in my life.  This time in my life I know will bless my life and my family right now and my future family also.  The Lord is helping me each day and i can see that and I love to re-read my journal entries and see how I have grown.

Hey everyone!!!!

It has been almost a whole transfer without getting over whelmed.  I learned that attitude is everything.  I look forward to each day.  If I wake up and feel that it is going to be a hard day, I look at my planner and look for something to look forward to.

Bishop gave us a referral to teach his nephew and he is progressing well, he has come to church for a while and has the support of his family.  We have started working with a return Sister missionary in our ward and she has shown us some inactive member houses that we can go and teach or visit.

On Thursday we were eating dinner and the RAIN started.  We had one more lesson to teach but we were unable to get there because of the dogs don't like us very much there and the water was up to our calves.  We were wet from head to toe, even though we had our umbrellas they didn't do much.  Our apartment was so humid after the rain stopped.  The Holy Ghost works in his on little ways and sometimes I don't understand them.  We came out of a member house an normally we turn right but for some reason without knowing it we turned left.  If we wouldn't have turned left we wouldn't have met Siste Lucene.  She is an inactive member and she was so happy to see us.  We have set returning appointment to visit their family and we are excited about that.

On the way home from Bishops I always have to hold my shirt closed all the way up to my chin and put a teaching pamphlet in front of my face because of the bugs.  They some way find there way down our clothes.  Bishop wasn't home so his son took us home and we could tell that he hadn't driven the trik as often as his dad because there were a few times that I thought we were going to end up in the rice fields.  That would have been one funny story if it had happened, but it didn't.

Tagalog is coming along.  I have been blessed with patience and I thank Heavenly Father everyday for that.  I am so grateful to be here and would not want to go anywhere else.  He will help me with all of my weaknesses and make my strength stronger.

I love you all so much and of course miss you but grateful to be here.
